Opera’s new e-mail client is separate from the browser.

Bad move. Bad, bad move.

The innovation and power of Opera is what earned it respect from users. With the switch to the new browser engine, they’re removing the e-mail client and news reader. Now Opera will be “just another browser”. Ouch.

Additionally, without the full integration, features such as mouse gestures are gone; part of the interface native to Opera that diehard fans relied upon. As a stand-alone e-mail client Opera’s version is very, very weak.

I don’t see this ending well, at all.
